Monique Martineau, Owner and Director
Monique began dancing at the age of two at Beverly Baroody School of Dance, in NH.   Her clogging career started at the age of six taking lessons from the Granite State Cloggers (a group later led by her mother as director and aunt as primary instructor).  Her clogging career expanded after college when she moved to Fort Worth, TX and took lessons (and later taught) at the Bruce Lea Dance Factory.  Monique has taught at clogging workshops all over New England, Texas, Ohio and New York.  She has also judged at the Northeast Clogging Competition and Salt City Competition in New York. In competition, Monique's choreography and students have won first place in solo and team categories.  Besides clogging, Monique has also coached cheer and taught jazz classes.  Beyond dance, Monique is a graduate of Providence College with a degree in Social Studies Secondary Education, and of the University of Southern Maine with a Master of Science degree in Special Education. Monique also serves in the U.S. Army Reserve as an HR Specialist.  For fun, Monique enjoys being with family and friends, being outside, and playing with her dog, Vegas. She is incredibly excited to return to Maine and share her passion with the students at Northern Explosion Dance Studio!
